Reducing this invisible mountain of plastic is possible — and today, it's easier than ever, thanks to MYO – Unpackaged Shopping.
How Unpackaged Shopping Works on the Disiu platform
With Disiu, sustainability starts with the app. MYO – Unpackaged Shopping is a feature included in Disiu that allows customers and shopkeepers to easily and transparently join the “Unpackaged Shopping” project, which began in Sicily and is now ready to become a replicable model across all of Italy.
For Customers:
1. Access the “MYO – Unpackaged Shopping” feature from the Disiu Customer app.
2. Select the store where you want to shop (pizzeria, dairy shop, greengrocer, etc.).
3. Specify the reusable containers you plan to use (e.g., trays for meat, jars for cheese, containers for pizza) and the quantity.
4. Send the request: the shopkeeper will receive the list.
For Shopkeepers:
1. Receive customer requests with details of the selected containers.
2. Verify at the time of purchase if the customer has actually used the indicated containers.
3. Confirm the participation in the unpackaged purchase.
With each confirmation, the customer earns sustainability points, which can be redeemed for discounts, vouchers, or future rewards. In this way, protecting the environment also becomes a tangible benefit for everyone.
